Terms

Terms

These terms set out the basic commercial terms for using DeVeere and purchasing naming credits.

The service

DeVeere provides venture-naming services. One naming credit equals one complete naming engagement. Credits may be purchased individually or in bundles and activated when needed.

The service is collaborative and asynchronous. We work from the naming brief, follow up by email where needed, present naming options and continue refining until a name is reached that the client is ready to proceed with.

Timing

We normally send first naming options within a few days. Most projects are completed within one to two weeks, although timing can vary depending on the brief, feedback and complexity of the engagement.

Guarantee

If we do not get to a name the client is ready to proceed with, the client does not pay for that engagement. If a prepaid naming credit was activated, that credit remains available.

Payments and credits

Prices shown on the website are the prices for the stated number of naming credits at the time of purchase. Credits are not subscriptions and are activated only when needed.

Purchases are processed through our payment provider.

Domains

Domain availability can change quickly and cannot be guaranteed until registration or acquisition is completed.

Domain availability is not trademark clearance. Clients are responsible for obtaining appropriate legal and trademark advice before adopting or using a name.

Client responsibilities

The client is responsible for providing an accurate brief, timely feedback and any information reasonably needed to perform the engagement. The client is also responsible for deciding whether to adopt a proposed name and for legal, regulatory and trademark clearance.

Confidentiality

We treat non-public information supplied in a naming brief as confidential and use it for the purpose of carrying out the engagement, subject to disclosures required by law or to service providers supporting delivery of the service.

Intellectual property

Once an engagement has been paid for, the client may use the final selected name arising from that engagement, subject to third-party rights and the client's own clearance obligations.

DeVeere retains ownership of its working methods, research materials, templates and general know-how. Unselected naming options are not transferred unless separately agreed.

Limitations

No naming service can guarantee that a proposed name is legally available, registrable as a trademark, free from third-party rights or suitable in every jurisdiction. DeVeere does not provide legal or trademark advice.
